Cyprus digital nomad visa
Cyprus offers an English-friendly, sunny EU base with over 300 days of sunshine and a low-crime, low-cost lifestyle by Western-European standards. The Migration Department runs the scheme for non-EU remote workers, with a clear €3,500/month net income bar. The main catch is a hard cap on the number of permits issued, so it can close to new applicants — apply when the window is open.

Moving abroad means more than the visa — sort your travel insurance (many visa applications require proof of coverage), set up borderless banking, and land with data working.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. Cyprus caps the total number of digital nomad permits, and the ceiling has been raised over time as demand grew. When the cap is reached, applications pause until it's increased again — so if the scheme is open, it's worth applying promptly rather than waiting.

If you stay more than 183 days you generally become a Cyprus tax resident. Cyprus has favourable rules, including a 'non-dom' regime, but how your foreign income is treated depends on your situation — confirm with a Cyprus tax adviser before a long stay.
The initial permit is valid for one year and can be renewed for up to two additional years, for three years total. After that you'd need to look at other Cyprus residency routes.
